This website is for Steven D. Miller’s consulting business. I am not associated with any other website with similar names.

I provide integration of process controls for environmental projects, including delivery and installation at your site.  Projects have included aquatic life support, irrigation diversions around dams, and pump intake stations on rivers, and natural gas fueling equipment.

Typical projects have included:

  • Instrumentation, alarm, and control of water flows, water levels, dissolved oxygen, and water temperatures.
  • Design of pump controls, power distribution, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Remote control and monitoring (SCADA) of irrigation canals, well fields, and level control of wetland restoration projects.

I can:

  • recommend or specify equipment to be integrated into your processes.
  • Specify or recommend alarm and monitoring equipment to monitor filters, chillers, water flows & levels, and water disinfection.
  • Help you develop your P&IDs to define your best solution.
  • Specify standby generators.
  • Prepare operator manuals for your process.

Your objectives are coordinated with architects, engineers, suppliers, contractors, utilities, and government agencies.  Assistance is provided from the design concept phase through startup, and beyond. Assistance can include contractors’ submittal reviews, start-up consultation, commissioning assistance, equipment troubleshooting assistance,  and the training of operators.
